The Easton Police Department is investigating numerous reports of theft of political signs and vandalism, including political messages painted on the streets, according to a statement issued by Chief Richard Doyle.
Doyle is asking those responsible to please refrain from this type of behavior. It is taking time and valuable resources away from the department and the availability for officers to serve the community in other areas.
This behavior also puts a financial strain on the Public Works Department’s time when employees are called to remove paint from local streets, Doyle said.
Anyone caught will be arrested and charged with criminal mischief, Doyle said.
