Exciting news for all photographers! The Easton Arts Council’s Annual Photography Contest is easier to enter than ever. Of course, the show is are virtual this year, which translates into more time for taking great pictures and less time to worry about framing and other steps to get your great photo ready.
All photos entered will be exhibited on three websites: those of the Easton 175 Year Anniversary Celebration, the Easton Public Library, and the Easton Arts Council. Think of the terrific exposure your pictures will get. Viewers will have the opportunity of purchasing a copy of your photograph if you are willing to sell.
Nov. 13 is the deadline for the digital submission of your photos (up to two). Although you need not live in Easton to enter, photos for the contest must be taken in town. The first prize winner will receive $100 cash for purchase; your photograph will join dozens of past winners on permanent display in Easton Town Hall. Ribbons and certificates of recognition will be awarded in additional categories.
The Easton Arts Council is pleased to announce that David Dunlop, the engaging host and writer of the national PBS television series, “Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop,” will be this year’s contest judge. Dunlop, a distinguished artist and lecturer in galleries and institutions here and abroad, is currently serving on the faculty of Silvermine School of Arts in New Canaan, Conn.
This year, as Easton celebrate its 175th Year Anniversary, what better way to honor Easton than by sharing your best Easton-based photos? So go ahead, give it your best shot. The entry form is at eastonartscouncil.org.
