UPDATE: The total vote count as of 7:30 p.m. was 4,914, or 86% of Easton’s 5,715 registered voters, including 3,187 tabulated in-person votes and 1,727 absentee ballots. The polls close at 8 p.m. at Samuel Staples Elementary School.
According to town officials, as of 3:30 p.m. today, 4,478 votes had been cast, including absentee ballots. There are 5,715 active registered voters in Easton. That’s 78% of registered voters.
Absentee ballots were described as “unchanged” at 5:30 p.m. with 1,703 tabulated and in-person votes at 5:12 at 2,969 for a total of 4,672. That’s 81.7%, which surpassed the 80% of the electorate who turned out for the 2016 election.
