Easton Arts Council Announces 2020 Photography Contest Winners

The Easton Arts Council has announced the winners of its 2020 Photography Contest. Below are photos of each of the winning photographs along with individual critiques by the juror, David Dunlop. The arts council thanks all of the participants for the amazing photographs and extends congratulations to the following:

1st Prize: Swans On Aspetuck Reservoir 2020 by Kaitlin Anne Kyle

2nd Prize: Condensate Cricket by Jeff Becker

Special Recognition: Evening Fireflies by Jacquelyn Eitling 

Special Recognition: Iced Blue by Jeff Becker

Special Recognition: The Winter’s Tails by Geri Gould

The Easton 2020 Photography Contest is virtual this year and will be displayed on the websites of the Easton Arts Council, Easton 175 and the Easton Public Library by Nov. 27. The arts council had a record number of entries with a total of 64 photographs from 41 participants, representing 10 Connecticut towns, Massachusetts and the United Kingdom.

The winning photograph, ‘Swans On Aspetuck Reservoir,” by Kaitlin Anne Kyle will be presented to First Selectman David Bindelglass for placement in the Easton Town Hall at a date to be determined.

In celebration of the towns 175th anniversary, the Easton Arts Council has compiled a virtual Easton Town Hall Photo Gallery, which includes all winning photographs from 1987 to present.  http://www.eastonartscouncil.org/upcomingevents.htm
