Burglaries Reported

Easton police officers were dispatched to a Tuckahoe Road residence to investigate a burglary on Saturday, Dec. 5, at approximately 8:15 p.m. Arriving home, the homeowners discovered their house had been ransacked and they reported items missing.

As officers conducted their investigation at the site, the police department dispatch center received a 911 call at approximately 8:40 p.m. from other residents on the same road, reporting their home had also been burglarized and ransacked.

Both residences were entered by force, one through a shattered window, the other through a door. Cash and jewelry were taken from both residences, and a firearm was stolen from one of the homes.

Surveillance cameras at one residence captured two males wearing dark hoodies and masks entering the home at about 5:30 p.m.

The Easton Police Department is investigating several leads and has collected physical evidence that will be sent to the Connecticut State Police Forensics Lab for examination.

In response to the break-ins, Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle said, “I urge all our residents to be vigilant in securing valuables in your homes. If you have a security alarm system, make sure you arm it and please call the police immediately if you see any suspicious activity.”

The Easton Police Department is located at 700 Morehouse Road, Easton, CT 06612, 203-268-4111, EastonCT.gov.
