Christ Church in snow

The Parish of Christ Church is preparing for its annual Ash & Dash Ash Wednesday, on Feb.17, from 3 to 5 p.m.  In years past, Ash & Dash enabled those unable to attend an in-church service to receive ashes while remaining in their cars.

This year, Ash & Dash continues to provide convenience, now with COVID protection, as well as offering a way to receive ashes for those who have not used Ash & Dash in the past.

The Rev. Allison (“Ally”) Brundige, priest-in-charge, will be masked to welcome “drive-bys” in the church parking lot.  Drivers and passengers must wear masks to receive ashes.

“While adhering to COVID-safety protocols, Christ Church is delighted to make this holy ritual available to the Easton and surrounding communities.  A sacred symbol of our humanity, our need, and the tender care of our Creator, the sprinkling of ashes also marks the beginning of the season of Lent in our Christian calendars.”

“This will be my first Ash & Dash in Easton and I look forward to greeting everyone who swings by; all are welcome, ” Rev. Ally said.

Christ Church will also offer an Ash Wednesday service in the church parking lot at 6 p.m.. Radio access will allow attendees to follow the service. Ashes will also be distributed to those in their cars following the service.

Christ Church is located at the intersection of Church Road and Route 59.
