The Republican BOF members did make a motion to defund the Park & Rec budget last March, with no formal plan to consolidate the department with another department.
Separately, a second motion was made by the R’s to consolidate field maintenance into the Highway Department. Is the Highway Department going to run The Easton Arts Center or the After School Program? Can Public Works run the Cupcake Decorating Workshop?
Let’s be realistic about what was proposed and support Democratic BOF candidates who will work in the best interest of Easton residents.
