Appoints New Trustees and Foundation Manager
Applications for college scholarships from the Staples Free School Fund for the 2022-23 school year are available online at http://www.staplesfreeschool.wixsite.com/sfsf or by email at StaplesScholars@yahoo.com. Applicants must be Easton residents who plan to attend an accredited college, community college or university within the United States. One half of the award is a scholarship; the other half is a loan due without interest within seven years of the date of receipt. Applications must be received by Friday, May 6, 2022. Scholarships granted for the 2021-22 school year totaled $44,000.
The Staples Free School Fund, administered by a Board of Trustees comprised of Easton residents, recently appointed Seth Cooper as Chairman, Gregg Saunders as Treasurer and Monica Ogrinz and Tara Sanft as Trustees. Carolann Vassallo is appointed Foundation Manager. Continuing board members include Vice Chairman Andy Kachele, Secretary Edward Roche, and Trustees Suzanne Dow, Todd Johnston and Dori Wollen.
An additional public service scholarship in honor of the late Anne Lindquist, a Trustee of the Fund at the time of her death, is also accepting applications. Details are available on the website.
