A re-dedication ceremony of the Joan Parker Outdoor Classroom will take place at Helen Keller Middle School on May 5 to honor Joan Parker, a former principal at the school who passed away in 2010. Shortly after her passing the outdoor classroom was created in her memory. Her vision of the outdoor classroom included a roof, which was recently completed.
Parker’s widower, Easton Board of Education member Jeffrey Parker, and his two daughters, one of whom is a school principal, have been invited to attend the re-dedication.
The brief ceremony lasting between 10 to 15 minutes will take place at 2:30 p.m.
