To the Editor
We are writing this letter in strong support of Karen O’Brien who is running for re-election for the ER9 Board of Education. During her time on the board she has been a strong advocate of the ER9 district. She has supported advancements in many of the programs, including expansion of the AP class selections to better match with our peer school district offerings. Karen is also aware of the challenges students have when transitioning between middle and high school, and has been striving to ease those transitions.
As a longtime Easton resident whose children also attended Joel Barlow High School, Karen has been active in the community for many years. She is one of the founding members of the Easton Learning Foundation in 2004 and is still an active board member today.
We currently have three children at Barlow, and Karen is always looking for ways to strengthen and improve the curriculum. Karen has a continued commitment to the education in our town and we encourage you to vote for her this November.
