Dear Potential Adopters,

My name is Jeter and I’m eight years old.
In this heartfelt letter, my story will be told.
Wondering if being old is some kind of crime.
Believe me, I act like I am still in my prime.
I’ve been waiting six months, which is way too long.
Always dreaming about finding the place I truly belong.
At night, as I curl myself up to sleep, I silently do pray.
For someone who wants an active dog that loves to play.
Though active, I’m a good boy, who’s loving and sweet.
Awaiting the day my new family I will finally get to meet.
Eagerly watching the door, hoping someone will want me.
Having a family to take me on walks & play ball is my plea.
Oh yeah, there’s one thing that I truly do honestly regret.
In my new home, there cannot be any cats — but don’t fret.
Because I might like to live with another dog around my size.
Giving a lonely sigh, I try sending another wish up into the skies.
Wishing for someone to want an older pup who grins endlessly.
Knowing deep in my heart that I will find a home eventually.
Maybe even someone who reads my letter, will give me a home.
With a good sized backyard in which to play and safely roam.
Love Always:
A Shelter Pup Named Jeter

Jeter, 8, has been patiently waiting around six months and sadly there has been no interest in this sweet boy. 🙁 Pretty please share this post everywhere to help this sweet boy find a forever home (hopefully by springtime) ❤
