Applications for college scholarships from the Staples Free School Fund for the 2024-25 school year are available online or by contacting Foundation Manager Carolann Vassallo via email at StaplesScholars@yahoo.com. Applicants must be Easton residents who plan to attend an accredited college, community college or university within the United States. A minimum of five years residency in Easton is required. One half of the award is a scholarship; the other half is a loan due without interest within seven years of the date of receipt. Applications must be received by Friday, May 10.

Recipient selection is based on financial need. Scholarships are granted for a year at a time, however, students may reapply on an annual basis. The average scholarship granted for the 2023-24 school year was $4,000.

An additional public service scholarship in honor of the late Anne Lindquist, a Trustee of the Fund and Vice-Chairman of the Board at the time of her death, is also accepting applications. Details are available on the website.

The Staples Free School Fund is administered by a Board of Trustees comprised of Easton residents, including Chairman Seth Cooper, Vice Chairman Andy Kachele, Treasurer Gregg Saunders, Secretary Edward Roche and Trustees Suzanne Dow, Todd Johnston, Monica Ogrinz, Tara Sanft and Dori Wollen.
