‘Serendipity Winds’ Quintet to Perform at April 6 Reception
‘The World Up Close and Far Away’ — an exhibition for everyone, young and old — will be on display at the Easton Public Library conference room from April 1 through May 15. This is a collection of photographs by artist Roderike “Rody” Pohl of Sherman.

Rody is a local photographer who has shown her images in many art shows in upper Fairfield County and in Easton. Her photos have appeared in magazine advertisements and are on several websites.
Although most of the photos were taken in and around New England, many are also from other parts of the country and international locations.

The exhibit will focus on photographs up close, distant scenes and everything in between. Children and adults will enjoy pictures of animals and insects in the library glass display case and the story behind the toad that inspired Rody’s mother, the late Easton artist Joyce Pedersen‘s, comical watercolor “Frog,” which will also be on display as a tribute to her mother. They always had quite a laugh about this.
“Decades of travel have allowed me to photograph a wide variety of images throughout Europe, the United States, and Belize,” Rody said. “In addition, summers filled with boating excursions throughout New England gave me the opportunity to capture sunsets and nautical scenes from Provincetown, Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Long Island, and the Sound.

“When not travelling, I photograph local subjects like frogs, owls and insects lurking in the backyard. I am blessed to have had so many opportunities to use my camera and look forward to presenting these pictures to the community. My goal is to share the beauty I’ve experienced with others who might not have the good fortune I’ve had to see the world up close and far away.”
Please mark your calendar for these dates and enjoy the show!
After the reception on April 6, Serendipity Winds, a local woodwind quintet, will perform in the community room from 5 to 6 p.m.
