The Easton Public Library will hold an unveiling on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. to present two sensory garden carts, complete with plantings by the Easton Garden Club, that were constructed by Eagle Scout candidate Toni Erian.
Toni, who is a member of BSA Troop 306, planned the project in conjunction with Library Director Lynn Zaffino and Easton Garden Club member Jean Stetz-Puchalski. She planned out all aspects of the project, including funding, purchasing of the supplies, and construction of the carts.
The carts, which will be housed on the library’s back patio, will include plants that appeal to four of the five senses. One of the carts is also wheelchair accessible, so it can be enjoyed by individuals of all abilities.
BSA Troop 306 is an all-girls’ troop from Redding and Easton. The sensory garden cart project was undertaken to fulfill the requirements for Toni’s Eagle Scout project.
