A two-car head-on collision that occurred on Route 58 South off Center Road Saturday night has claimed the life of a Bridgeport man and a Redding woman.
Easton Police said Mario Licona, 58, of Bridgeport was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, Florence Mahony, 87, of Redding, was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport where she later died.
Police said when they arrived at the crash scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. they found one vehicle on fire and the other with serious damage. The Easton Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Fairfield Police Crash Investigative Unit.
