The Easton Public Library will host a cryptozoology program for high schoolers and adults on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. in the library community room. Author Patrick Scalisi and artist Valerie Ruby-Omen will talk about their book “Connecticut Cryptids: A Field Guide to the Weird and Wonderful Creatures of the Nutmeg State.

Dictionary.com describes a cryptid as a “creature whose reported existence is unproved, such as Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster.” Scalisi and Ruby-Omen will explain the concepts of cryptozoology and cryptids, followed by a live storytelling session of interest to Easton (yes, there are cryptids lurking near Easton)!

There will also be time for questions and answers and an opportunity to purchase signed books and prints from the creators.

Registration is required at https://engagedpatrons.org/EventsRegister.cfm?SiteID=4460&BranchID=&Branch=&EventID=542416&PK=.
