The Easton Public Library will host a series of programs throughout May, including an art reception, film screenings, educational talks and community events.

The library will present Kaleidoscope 2026, an art reception and film celebrating neurodiversity, on Friday, May 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature artwork created by neurodivergent individuals from TransitionCT and Abrakadoodle. A reception with refreshments is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a 6:30 p.m. screening of How to Dance in Ohio, a documentary about teenagers and young adults on the autism spectrum preparing for a spring formal. Registration is recommended for the film.

The library’s Classic Film Series will conclude Thursday, May 7, with a 7 p.m. screening of the 1934 film The Merry Widow, directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald. The series is moderated by Easton resident and film historian Jon Sonneborn and co-sponsored by the Easton Arts Council. Registration is not required.

The Women’s Business League of Fairfield County will launch an educational speaker series at the library with a panel discussion titled “Purpose, Philanthropy, and Legacy” on Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. The series is designed to provide practical information through non-commercial discussions led by professional women. Registration is recommended.

An open Mah-Jongg session for experienced players will be held Thursday, May 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own sets if available. Playing for money is not permitted. Registration is recommended.

Jason Richetelli, a partner at ADU Builders of Connecticut, will lead an informational session on accessory dwelling units on Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m. The talk will cover regulations, zoning, costs, design options and timelines for homeowners considering ADUs. Registration is recommended.

The library will host a wellness fair Sunday, May 31, from 1 to 5 p.m., featuring local organizations and service providers, including EMS, the Aspetuck Health District and Easton’s Here to Help. The event will also include a cooking demonstration by Khemi’s Vegan Cuisine. Registration is not required.

In addition, the library’s adult book clubs will meet May 14 at 10:30 a.m. and May 21 at 7 p.m., with the latter session held on Zoom. The Scrabble Club will meet Sunday, May 17, from 3 to 7 p.m.
