The Easton Learning Foundation’s (ELF) 12th annual Trivia Bee will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at Samuel Staples Elementary School. Over the years, the Trivia Bee has become one of the most anticipated events in town. The Bee is attended by students K-12, town officials, teachers, community members, and school administrators.
The goal of the Bee is to raise money to fund educational enrichment and to encourage community in a fun and spirited way. Participants dress in their finest “bee” costumes, and awards are given for best costumes as well as for trivia knowledge.
The Easton Learning Foundation was founded in 2004. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching Easton’s commitment to quality education. Over the past 16 years, ELF has raised and donated over $500,000 to help further education at Samuel Staples Elementary School, Helen Keller Middle School, and Joel Barlow High School.
Past grants include launch funds for Project Lead the Way at Helen Keller, sponsorship of the Invention Convention at Samuel Staples, and purchase of a CNC router for Joel Barlow. The foundation strives to secure financial and human resources for innovative educational projects and programs by building community-wide support for the benefit of our schools, partnering with the district to help achieve its vision, and funding initiatives that fall outside the school budget.
