Searching for the right job can be a challenge, especially in a market that’s unpredictable. The Easton Public Library offers a variety of resources and programs designed to assist the job seeker in every aspect of the job search—from résumé writing to interviews, and everywhere in between.

In addition to books on a range of topics within the subject of careers, the library also has digital databases and research tools, as well as career coaching consultation sessions to further assist patrons who are navigating the job market.

The EBSCO Learning Express® Job & Career Accelerator is the latest addition to the library’s digital resources. It features tools that help build résumés and write effective cover letters, find a career match, explore occupations, search for jobs and internships, prepare for an interview, and discover schools and scholarships. The Career eBooks Library offers job search and career-related eBooks on a range of topics. The Computer Skills Center provides video tutorials on the basics of computers and the Internet, as well as on popular software tools, and graphics and illustration.

With Hoonuit, patrons can access thousands of short videos covering more than 500 of today’s most popular software applications, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, and iPad, as well as social media tutorials on Twitter, blogging and podcasting. Gale’s Training Education and Resource Center also features a wide range of tools for job searchers. From SAT prep tests to career occupational tests, plus résumé building and cover-letter writing, this service offers something for every career stage.

For a personal job search connection, the library offers frequent Career Coaching Consultations with career coach and Easton resident Cathy Alfandre. The 30-minute, one-on-one sessions are confidential, and provide assistance with résumés, career changes, LinkedIn profiles and other job search and career questions. Upcoming Career Coaching Consultation sessions are Thursday, August 20, 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, September 24, 6 to 8 p.m. Check with the library for dates in the fall.
