The Easton, Redding and Region 9 Boards of Education, at a special meeting on July 31, appointed Dr. Stephanie Pierson Ugol as interim school superintendent.
In addition to her role as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, Pierson Ugol will assume the responsibilities of the superintendency until the new superintendent is able to begin his/her term.
After 35 years as an educator — the last 13 as an administrator for the Easton, Redding and Region 9 Schools — Superintendent Dr. Thomas McMorran announced his retirement in May.
Dr. Joseph Erardi, the search consultant working with the Easton, Redding, Region 9 Boards of Education, facilitated two community forums in July to gather community input for the superintendent’s hiring committee.
It is anticipated that the ER9 school boards will be able to announce the name of the new superintendent shortly, according to Vicki Cram, ER9 human resources manager.

Important Note About School Websites:  Although set up for automatic renewal, the security certifications on the ER9 school websites expired over the weekend. School officials are working with their technology consultants to get this matter resolved today, Cram said.
