Come Together Easton is set for Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Town Leaders who will speak include:

  • State Senator Tony Hwang
  • State Rep. Anne Hughes
  • First Selectman David Bindelglass
  • Selectwoman Kristi Sogofsky
  • ER9 Schools Superintendent Dr. Rydell Harrison

Easton residents Devon Keefe Wible and Sarah Austin Lehberger organized the event. The event description is as follows:

“On Jan. 6, many of us watched in disbelief as chaos unfolded in our nation’s Capitol. This shocking event has left many of us feeling helpless and further divided, but together we can begin healing and making a positive difference. We are hosting a virtual event to reject last week’s violence and begin a discussion about being the change we want see in our world.”

Insurrection: An American Attack on the U.S. Capitol, a free virtual event, is set for Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m., sponsored by Sacred Heart University.

Gary Rose, Ph.D., Chair, SHU Government Department; Gary MacNamara, SHU Executive Director of Public Safety and Governmental Affairs; and Senator Tony Hwang, Connecticut Senate, will lead a discussion on the attack on our nation’s Capitol, the events that led up to it and how we move forward.
