The Easton Police Department received a 911 call on April 7 at approximately 5:22 p.m. reporting a two-car accident on Judd Road at Knapp Street.
When the responding officer arrived at the scene, both drivers were outside of their vehicles. The first driver stated he was traveling southbound on Judd Road when a vehicle traveling northbound crossed over into his lane and struck him head on.
The second driver, later identified as Marvin Siana-Morales, 27, had red and blood shot eyes, according to the officer. Siana-Morales stated that he was traveling on Judd Road and was tired because he had been up since 4 a.m. He thought he might have fallen asleep. He did not remember much more after that, police said.
The officer noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Siana-Morales’ breath and asked him if he had been drinking, which he denied. When the officer said he could smell alcohol on his breath, Siana-Morales admitted he had been drinking, according to the report.
After failing to pass several sobriety tests, he was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and taken to the police station for processing. He refused to take a breath test and claimed he did not speak English, only Spanish, police said.
Siana-Morales was also charged with failure to drive right. He was later released to his wife, who posted a $250 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear at the G2 Bridgeport courthouse on April 13.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
