Bear Sightings Reported in Easton

A male bear hides in an Oak Tree on Stones Throw Road.

A Stones Throw Road resident called the Easton Police Department to report that a bear was in her yard, eating
from her bird feeder on the morning of May 17.  A responding officer located the bear approximately 20 feet up in an oak tree. He was not posing any danger.

The bear weighs approximately 125 pounds and is likely the same big boy that has been sighted and reported by Ring Home Alarm users, one of whom lives on April Drive.

A fact sheet and other information about bears can be found on the State of Connecticut DEEP
Website.
