Jennifer De Jesus and her husband, Marcos, moved to Easton four years ago when they fell in love with the beautiful farming community. Jennifer and Marcos have a six-year-old daughter, Clara, who is in first grade at Samuel Staples Elementary School. Jennifer also has three step children who she adores, Eric, Fernando and Isabella.
Jennifer is currently appointed as an Easton Board of Education (BOE) member and joined the Easton Democratic Town Committee (EDTC) candidate slate as she wishes to extend her service term. Jennifer is passionate about ensuring the Easton children receive the best possible education.
Jennifer earned her bachelor of science degree in accounting from SUNY Oneonta (May 1998). Upon graduation, Jennifer joined a regional accounting firm in Florida where she worked for six years enabling her to earn her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (July 2002).
Jennifer then attended the University of West Florida where she earned her master’s degree in business administration (December 2005). Upon completing her MBA, Jennifer relocated back to her home state of New York where she joined IBM. During Jennifer’s 15-year career with IBM, she worked in numerous roles across the accounting, finance and operation organizations.
As a third-generation IBMer, she loves to share the story of her grandfather who was an IBM engineer who earned several patents and contributed to the development of the IT reservations systems used by airlines today.Jennifer and Marcos own The UPS Store in Darien. Jennifer resigned from IBM in March 2021 to work with her husband in their family business.
Jennifer strives to help the Easton BOE advocate for school funding during the annual Board of Finance (BOF) budget cycle. She aspires to continue to serve as a member of the Easton Board of Education and use her 20 years of financial expertise to help her community collaborate with the BOF during the annual budget process.
