Community Color Run to Support Mikey’s Way Scheduled for June 5

Joel Barlow’s National Honor Society will host a Color Run on Sunday, June 5 at its Redding campus to support Mikey’s Way Foundation, which supplies children with electronics during cancer treatment in memory of Mikey Friedman, an inspiring Joel Barlow alumnus.

This event is open to all community members and we are excited to welcome everyone to Barlow. Participants will run Joel Barlow 5k Cross Country course. Throughout the run, there will be volunteers throwing colored powder at participants.

Check-in will be from 9 to 10 a.m.  The run will start at 10  a.m, and end at 11:30 a.m. There will be booths by various Joel Barlow High School clubs and student organizations to share information about their groups as well as sell products for fundraising. You are encouraged to support these student groups and learn more about how they make Barlow better!

The College Creamery Ice Cream truck will sell ice cream for $4. For each ice cream sold, 50 cents will go towards our donation goal. Tickets can be purchased online through the MySchoolBucks website at: https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/prdembd?ref=ZZH50YVQX2083T5_ZZ5UR921Y4W0R6I.

Tickets come in the form of a Color Run Kit. This includes two wristbands, two Kind Bars, a t-shirt, a pair of white sunglasses, and a pamphlet about Mikey’s Way. The cost is $20. per kit. There are only 200 available kits.

In-person tickets can be purchased at the event. They will cost $5 and will not include any items from the kit. If you intend to purchase tickets at the event, please bring your own disposable t-shirt and pair of sunglasses as they will not be provided.
