The much awaited Holiday Market and Tree Lighting, hosted by the Friends of the Easton Public Library and organized by Kelly Byrne Skarupa, drew a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd this afternoon. The library was bustling with activity from the main reading room to the community room. Children’s activities, holiday gifts, free cookies, cocoa and spruce saplings were only the beginning. Caroling, a visit from Santa and his missus – and then the most anticipated moment when the tree was lit – elicited cheers from a crowd of a few hundred kids and grown-ups. The chilly moonlit night was perfect for the occasion.
