If you missed Taste of Easton-Redding’s Soup & Stews Festival event in January, members of the popular Facebook page devoted to food are hosting an Appetizers & Desserts get together on May 7 from 1 to 3 p.m at the Easton Public Library.
The community event is open and free to all. Participants can bring their favorite appetizers or desserts. The event will feature a table of Ukrainian desserts to honor Easton’s sister city alliance with Sviatohirsk in Ukraine and will accept donations for the city. Easton recently partnered with the war-town city through a sister city program with Ukraine Aid International.
Sal Giardina and Sheila Lincoln Papps started the Taste of Easton & Redding Facebook page last year as a way to bring community members in both towns together through a shared love of food. The page has amassed nearly 900 members who share recipes and pictures of meals that they have made.

Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the event to benefit the Thomas Merton Center in Bridgeport.
