
Dr. David Bindelglass will be presented with the Distinguished Community Service Award at the Greater Bridgeport Medical Association Physician Social and Award Ceremony on May 17 at Boca Oyster Bar on Bridgeport Harbor.
An orthopedic surgery specialist principal in Orthopedic Specialty Group in Fairfield, Dr. Bindelglass has almost 40 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Harvard College and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
While in practice, Dr. Bindelglass was on the executive committee, chief of the section of orthopedics at Bridgeport Hospital and served as president of the medical staff and a member of the board of trustees.
After serving on the Easton Board of Education for four years, Dr. Bindelglass was elected first selectman of Easton, a part-time position, in 2019. He was re-elected in 2021. State Rep. Anne Hughes and State Senator Tony Hwang will present the award to Dr. Bindelglass.
Dr. Daniel Gottschall and Dr. Victor Morris will be presented with Exemplary
Medical Leadership Awards. Dr. Gottschall is Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs at Hartford
HealthCare/St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Morris is the is Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs
at Yale New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital.
In addition to these three awards, two nursing excellence awards will be presented and five
college scholarships to high school seniors from Bassick, Bullard Havens, Central, Central Magnet
and Harding High Schools.
The reception will include hors d’oeuvres and music by Warren Bloom. Tickets to the Physician Social and Award Ceremony are $150 with half the proceeds going toward the scholarship fund of the Greater Bridgeport Medical Association.
