On Sept. 14 troopers from the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad teamed up with Easton Police to enforce commercial motor vehicle laws, according to a press release.

The enforcement centered around the Route 136 and Route 59 area. Multiple commercial motor vehicle stops were conducted and several commercial motor vehicle stops required inspection. Two vehicles were found to have mechanical defects that placed those trucks out of service. Two additional trucks were found to be overweight. Fines that were issued totaled $11,000, police said.
