Editor’s note: The Easton Courier asked candidates to submit a profile and a statement discussing three top issues facing Easton and how the candidate will help address them. Adam Dunsby, Republican candidate for the Region 9 Board of Education, submitted the following response.
Profile and Statement

Adam Dunsby, an experienced public servant who has held numerous municipal and state positions, is seeking election to the Region 9 Board of Education.
“The most important service our town provides is education. Our schools need to maintain that focus and to work on getting student achievement back to pre-pandemic levels and then to surpass them.”
Dunsby served one term in the Connecticut legislature where he sat on the Education Committee. He was elected to three terms as Easton’s First Selectman. Prior to that, Dunsby was a member of the Easton Board of Education and served as chair of that board.
“Our mission to provide exceptional education is best achieved by keeping control as local as possible,” he said.
Over his career, Dunsby co-founded three investment companies, and is currently a partner at Mansby Capital. He is an adjunct professor of finance at Sacred Heart University.
He is married to his wife, Cathy, and has four children, the youngest of which is a student at Joel Barlow High School. Dunsby grew up and attended public school in New Jersey.
