A GoFundMe account has been created for Jesus M. Roman, the Easton man who was
found dead on Oct. 8 in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee that was partially submerged in a pond on Route 59 and Church Road in front of Christ Church.
Roman, 35, was the driver of the Jeep Cherokee. A passenger, Amy L. Rockwell, 45, of
Newtown, was also found dead, according to Easton police.
The GoFundMe page was created the day after the accident and hopes to raise $15,000. To date, $11,706 has been raised.
Comments and donations came pouring in on the fundraising site from those who knew
Roman and those who heard about the tragedy. Many reflected on his infectious smile and
friendliness.
Roman is described on the GoFundMe page as a creative and loving individual. He had a
passion for cars and classic vehicles, as well as for attending fairs. He was a family man, who loved spending time with his sisters, Kelly and Brenda, and his nieces and nephews.
“Jesus’s heart belonged to Puerto Rico, a place he held dear in his soul,” said fundraiser organizer Jamie Smith. “His creative spirit
shone through as he embarked on countless adventurous projects and built anything he could dream up. His enthusiasm and joy were infectious, and his smile could brighten even the darkest days.”
Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle said the State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Roman, but the results of a toxicology report are not yet complete.
“We will release a report when everything is done,” said Doyle.
One donator on the GoFundMe site described Roman as “a caring, friendly young man, always willing to help.” Another contributor said, “Jesus was a wonderful guy, always smiling.”
