The Easton Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that took place on Sept. 28 at 7:39 p.m.
Police were dispatched to Route 58 south of Center Road after receiving several 911 calls reporting a serious two car accident. When police arrived they found one vehicle on fire and the other with serious damage. The Easton Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.
Easton EMS responded and took one victim to the hospital. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Fairfield Police Crash Investigation Unit was called to conduct the investigation. Monroe EMS, and the Wilton Police Department assisted in the investigation.
Route 58 was closed for several hours and has reopened.
