It is with the deepest sadness that we announce that Sean Cavanagh, 61, of Dunedin, F.L. passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Sean Cavanagh

Born in Washington D.C. to Francis Xavier and Carmelina (née Conderato) Cavanagh, he was raised in Scottsboro, Alabama and Easton, Connecticut, and would eventually settle in New Jersey before retiring to Florida. Sean graduated from Joel Barlow High School in 1982 and Boston College in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He would later attend University of Bridgeport for a Master of Business Administration. Sean worked for Metlife for over 20 years in Finance and later would start a second career as a Paralegal working for Law Firms across
both New Jersey and Florida.

Sean was kind-hearted and deeply intelligent, bringing good humor and wisdom to all who knew him. As Sean moved from Connecticut to Massachusetts for school and then to New Jersey to raise his daughters, he became an active member of each community, coaching numerous soccer and basketball teams locally. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers and college football fan, Sean held a deep love of sports and shared this passion with others throughout his life. His intelligence was complemented with a strong sense of creativity, leading to a love of literature and art which he shared with those close to him. Since retiring to Dunedin, F.L., he became an active member of his new community there. With a great sense of humor, he brought a smile to everyone he met, brightening the lives of everyone around him especially his beloved family.

He is survived by wife Michelle (née Rockeman) Cavanagh; daughters, Stephanie and Lindsay Cavanagh; stepson, Jon Biancalana; mother, Carmelina (née Conderato) Cavanagh; father, Francis X. Cavanagh; siblings, James Cavanagh (Leslie), Bettina Grob (Michael) and Victoria Sinnicki (William); nieces, Deirdre, Emily, Isabel, Libby, and Natalie, and nephews, Christian, William, Daniel, and Brian.
