Noreen Forde of Easton, an ovarian cancer survivor, is organizing a Holiday Poinsettias Plant Sale in Fairfield as a way of giving back to The Clearity Foundation, an organization that helped her through some difficult days. She wants to help other women with ovarian cancer have access to these exceptional programs.

“Now that I have recovered from ovarian cancer treatments, I want to raise funds to help other women who are diagnosed with this terrible disease,” stated Noreen Forde. “Poinsettias have been a holiday tradition for centuries so it is a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season and help others.”

Noreen teamed up with Vaiuso Farms of Branford to get the best plants possible. Patrick Clyne, owner of The Castle on Post Restaurant & Pub, is allowing his parking lot to be used for the pick-up of flowers.  Mrs. Claus is going to make a guest appearance and make a special presentation.

Premium Poinsettias with two branches will be in foiled 7.5” pots and sold featuring red, white, pink and marble. They are $30 each or two for $50. Proceeds from the sale benefit The Clearity Foundation. Clearity helps families facing ovarian cancer with scientific information, molecular profiling and counseling through its Steps Through OC, that Forde participates in.

Advance orders can be placed by calling Forde at 203-273-0483. Plant pick up will be on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Castle on Post, 222 Post Road, Fairfield, Conn. Proper social distancing protocols will be observed by all volunteers. People can go online at https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/ClearityFoundation/poinsettias.html
