To the Editor:
I was wondering if Easton has explored making the section of Sport Hill Road from Helen Keller Middle School to Silverman’s a reduced speed zone, like 20 or 25 mph. Seems this would cost much less than the walkway and could generate revenue from speeding tickets.
During Silverman’s busy season, I’ve seen reader board signs warning of slow traffic ahead. Why not do this on a permanent basis? I’ve lived in towns and cities where the speed was reduced to 20 mph as you entered the town, school zones, etc. Why not look at other options as the proposed walkway will mostly be used for a couple of hours when school is out and maybe on weekends.
