Boy Scout Troop 66 is once again holding its annual gourmet breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, March 23 at the Easton Community Center from 7:30 a.m. to noon. With choices from bacon and sausage to pancakes and their famous ebelskivers (a filled Danish pancake pocket), organizers expect another record turnout for the breakfast.

“It is one of the biggest community-building events in Easton,” said Heather Lewandowski, chair of the troop’s gourmet breakfast committee. “It is not just your regular pancake breakfast.”
The troop is expecting to serve more than 1,000 Easton residents who are looking for a bite to eat while supporting the local Boy Scouts. This year, the expectations for a bigger turnout have increased due to the opportunity to purchase tickets online through a QR code. Since this may bring more people to the event, organizers encourage those interested to let a local scout know of their plans.
Tickets for the breakfast cost $14 for adults. Tickets for children 10 and younger and for seniors 65 and older cost $12. You can order tickets online or email Troop66Breakfast@gmail.com with any questions.

Organizers say holding the breakfast is a major event for the scouts that teaches them valuable social and communication skills. It is also an opportunity for the scouts to learn and express the Scout Law, a set of codes that every scout is expected to follow. Along with these important lessons, the breakfast is used to raise funds for the various events and trips the members of the troop are able to pursue.
“The gourmet breakfast is the troop’s largest fundraiser of the year,” said Selectman Kristi Sogofsky. “It brings together all the scouts of different ranks as well as their families. Everyone helps to make the event a success. It’s great to see the scouts, parents and even siblings working together, and have fun while doing it.”
This year marks the 99th anniversary of Troop 66 in Easton. The fundraiser is expected to break records, thanks in part to a post-Covid resurgence, and organizers see the gourmet breakfast as kicking off what will be a major milestone year for the troop.
The Troop 66 gourmet breakfast is one of many events the group organizes throughout the year to show its commitment to serving the community while also continuing to raise funds in the process, said Lewandowski.
