Need a group of people to help with a kindness project? That’s easy. Ask a kid.

The Easton Arts Center has many projects in the works for Easton’s Sister City, Sviatohirsk, Ukraine. Through creative and artistic exploration, students at EAC have been learning about Ukrainian culture. Their current project is “Sharing Rocks,” in which they have been gathering and painting rocks yellow and blue to show their compassion for the citizens of Sviatohirsk.

These rocks can be seen in places throughout Easton like fundraising booths, a library display, farms and parks. When people see these rocks placed around town, they will be reminded of how we need to care for others, even those we have never met.

Students at the EAC have also constructed a giant wood thermometer that will be placed at the seven-acre sunflower field at Samuel Staples Elementary School, being cultivated by Irv Silverman. The thermometer will display the progress of Easton’s fundraising goals for Sviatohirsk throughout the summer.

Thank you to the students at Easton Arts Center for taking on such inspiring projects and for displaying  solidarity in a time of unprecedented need.
