The driver of a 2015 Honda Pilot whose car was struck by a deer on Nov. 20 was pronounced deceased the next day at Bridgeport Hospital, The Easton Police Department, Easton Fire Department and Easton Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene.
The EMS took the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle to the hospital as a result of series injuries sustained from the accident. Easton police identified the driver as Erin Heneghan, 47, of Newtown.
The deer entered the passenger compartment of the Honda Pilot, went through the driver’s side windshield, struck the operator, continued through the interior and was ejected from the vehicle through the rear window, police said.
The Fairfield Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist in the investigation. The Westport Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team also aided in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
