To the Editor:
I used to live on Sport Hill Road, along the area between the Middle School and the Village Store. I have long felt that creating some kind of walkway along the road is important because of the students and other people who walk along that section when the weather is nice.
Many more cars drive by now than when I first lived there and the cars tend to have better suspension systems so drivers are less sensitive about how fast they are driving. I think the current plan, which was discussed at the last Town Meeting, takes a little too much from the property owners’ front yard, but I hope the town will decide to put some kind of walkway there in the near future.
I also think the town should start looking for simple solutions to better protect bicycle riders and walkers on other busy roads as well.
